India has reported 25,467 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest number since March 2020

New Delhi: According to Union Health Ministry data released on Tuesday, India gained 25,467 new COVID-19 cases, while active cases decreased to 3,19,551, accounting for 0.98 percent of total infections, the lowest since March 2020.

The total number of COVID-19 cases has already reached 3,24,74,773. According to data updated at 8 a.m., the death toll has risen to 4,35,110, with 354 new fatalities.

The number of active cases was the lowest in 156 days, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate improved to 97.68%, the highest since March 2020, according to the ministry.

In a 24-hour period, the overall number of active COVID-19 instances was reduced by 14373 cases. In addition, 16,47,526 tests were carried out on Monday, bringing the total number of COVID-19 detection tests carried out in the country to 50,93,91,792.

The daily positive rate stood at 1.94 percent. For the last 28 days, it has been less than 3%. The weekly positive rate stood at 1.90 percent. According to the health ministry, it has been below 3% for the past 60 days.

According to the data, the number of patients who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 3,17,20,112, with a case fatality rate of 1.34 percent.

58.89 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered as part of the national vaccination program as of Tuesday morning.

On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16.

It reached 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19. On May 4, India passed the two-crore mark, and on June 23, it passed the three-crore mark.
