Congress Leader V T Balram Blasts Kerala CM, Calls Him “Number One Criminal”

In a scathing Facebook post, Congress vice-president V T Balram openly criticized Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, labeling him the “number one criminal” who has supported violence by his own party members. Balram’s comments were prompted by the chief minister’s statement justifying the attack on Youth Congress activists by DYFI (Democratic Youth Federation of India) members.

Balram highlighted that the Kerala Police had filed an FIR against 14 DYFI and CPM (Communist Party of India-Marxist) members for violently assaulting Youth Congress workers engaged in peaceful protests. Despite this, the chief minister, who also serves as the home minister overseeing the police, publicly supported the accused, according to Balram.

Responding to Balram’s criticism, Youth Congress president Rahul Mamkootathil expressed a lack of expectation for a dignified response from a chief minister who himself is an accused in the Vadikkal Ramakrishnan murder case. Rahul denounced Vijayan as a ruler characterized by wickedness, cruelty, and a lack of humanity, asserting that Kerala has never witnessed such leadership in its history.
