Kerala Government Employees to Receive Onam Bonus and Special Allowance

Ahead of the upcoming Onam, the Finance Minister of Kerala, KN Balagopal, has revealed a package for state government employees. A bonus amounting to Rs 4,000 will be granted to eligible employees, while those who do not qualify for the bonus will be given a special festival allowance of Rs 2,750, as per the minister’s announcement.

Service pensioners and contributory pension scheme staff members will be provided with a distinctive festival allowance of Rs 1,000. Additionally, a festival advance of Rs 20,000 will be disbursed to regular government employees. Notably, part-time and contingent workers will be entitled to a lower advance of Rs 6,000. Contract-scheme laborers will continue to receive a special festival allowance at the rate from the previous year. This initiative will benefit more than 1.3 million employees during the Onam festivities.
