Bathery forest range engulfed in fire; efforts underway to tackle the situation

A fire erupted at the Odappalli region of the Bathery forest range here on Saturday. It is part of Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary and efforts are underway to extinguish the blaze, said reports.

The flames were first spotted near Naiketty forest station. The mission to make the situation under control is led by the forest department and fire and safety officials. The development comes at a time when the state has been witnessing soaring temperatures.
