Onam Festivities to Kick Off on August 27 in Thiruvananthapuram with Celebrity Guests

The week-long Onam festivities are set to commence on August 27 and continue until September 2 in Thiruvananthapuram. The preparations for these celebrations have been finalized, as announced by Ministers V Sivankutty and PA Muhammad Riyas. The inaugural event will be graced by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who will inaugurate the festivities at 6 pm on August 27 at the Nishagandhi auditorium. This announcement was made by the ministers during their interaction with the media after participating in the meeting of the various organizing committees for the Onam celebrations, held at Mascot Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram.

Actor Fahadh Faasil and dancer Mallika Sarabhai have been designated as the special guests for the opening ceremony. The theme for this year’s celebrations is “Onam, Orumayude Eenam” (Onam, the melody of unity), aiming to showcase Kerala’s inclusive spirit to the global audience. The central locations for the festivities include Kanakakkunnu, Central Stadium, Poojappura, Thycaud, and Karyavattom Greenfield Stadium.
