Omicron cases in India: 236 confirmed infections in 16 states and UTs, 104 discharged statewise status; here’s the

New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Thursday (December 23, 2021) that the Omicron variety of COVID-19 has been found in 16 states and UTs, bringing the total number of verified cases in the country to 236.

According to the Health Ministry, 104 patients have been discharged or moved.

According to the Ministry’s state-by-state status report, Maharashtra (65), Delhi (64), Telangana (24) and Rajasthan (21) have the highest number of Omicron infections.

In 24 hours, there were 7,495 new COVID-19 instances.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, India has reported 7,495 new COVID-19 cases, 6,960 recoveries, and 434 deaths. The country’s active caseload has already reached 78,291.

So far, India has recorded over 3.42 crore recoveries and over 4.78 lakh deaths.
