Coronavirus: BigBasket join hands with Uber for delivery of essential goods

The ride-hailing app Uber has announced a new last-mile delivery service, for which it is partnering with the grocery delivery unicorn BigBasket. It will be Uber’s first client to collectively address the growing needs of consumers to access everyday essentials amid the current nationwide lockdown.

Uber will be deploying a mix of UberGo, UberXL and UberMoto, and will share its technology and vast network of delivery partners to support delivery of essential supplies to consumers’ doorsteps.

The service will enable BigBasket to serve its customers in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, and Noida.

In line with government guidelines to contain the spread of COVID-19, all drivers associated with this service have been provided with masks, gloves, sanitisers, and specialised safety training to ensure the highest possible safety and hygiene standards.
