COVID-19: Two more cases confirmed in Kerala

COVID-19 has been confirmed for two more persons in Kerala taking the total number of cases reported in the state to 22. While three patients returned home after receiving treatment, 19 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the state. The two COVID-19 cases confirmed on Friday are in Thiruvananthapuram. One is a man from Italy staying at a resort in Varkala while the other is a native of Vellanad.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Health Minister K. K. Shailaja confirmed the two new COVID-19 cases while addressing a press conference here on Friday night. A total of 5,468 people are under observation in Kerala. Among them, 271 have been admitted to hospitals. Health officials had collected 1,715 samples from the suspected cases out of which 1,132 were confirmed negative, the CM added.
