Rainfall & thunderstorm likely to hit in Kerala till August 2

India Meteorological Department has issued a warning alert of an Isolated thunderstorm in Kerala. Along with rainfall thunderstorms hit Kerala until August 2. The possibility of thunderstorms is higher between 2 pm and 10 pm. The lightning strikes are dangerous and have been causing damage to human lives and to property. In the wake of this Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has issued directions to be followed by the public. Some of the major guidelines are:

Get inside a safe building as soon the early signs of lightning are spotted
Do not go out or onto the rooftop when there is lightning
Disconnect domestic electronic devices
Close all the doors and window
Do not touch any metal substance
Keep distance from electronic devices
Avoid using landline telephones (mobile phones can be used with precautions)
