Veteran Congress Leader T H Musthafa Passes Away at 84

The demise of veteran Congress leader T H Musthafa has left a void in Kerala’s political landscape. Musthafa, aged 84, had a long and impactful political career, serving as the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies in the Karunakaran ministry from 1991 to 1994. His contributions extended beyond ministerial roles, as he dedicated 14 years to serving as the Ernakulam DCC president and held the position of KPCC vice president. Musthafa entered politics through the Youth Congress and secured his first victory as an MLA from the Aluva constituency in 1977. Representing the Kunnathanadu constituency for over four terms, he played a crucial role in shaping the political narrative in the region.

The legacy of T H Musthafa goes beyond his political achievements, as he was known for his commitment to public service and his significant impact on Kerala’s Congress party. His funeral, scheduled to take place at Marampally Jamat Kabristan, marks the end of an era in Kerala politics.
