The target for the drone attack in Jammu was the Air Traffic Control (ATC) building and MI 17 helicopters but both drones missed their targets.

According to sources from intelligence agencies, the Air Traffic Control (ATC) building and MI 17 helicopters were the targets of the bombings at the Indian Air Force base in Jammu, but both drones missed their targets.

In the early hours of Sunday, two drones launched an attack inside Jammu’s Air Force base. The explosions occurred six minutes apart on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday at around 1.40 a.m.

According to sources, one of the two drones carried a 5 kg TNT bomb, while the other carried a slightly lower payload. The National Security Guard’s (NSG) bomb squad and experts from other agencies are investigating the explosives used.

Two Indian Air Force personnel were reportedly injured in the attack. According to the Indian Air Force, both soldiers are under observation and are fine.

On the phone, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria spoke with the injured soldiers. Currently, the Air Chief Marshal is in Bangladesh.

The first blast ripped off the roof of a single-story building in the airport’s high-security technical area, while the second occurred 100 metres away from ATC.

According to sources, a red alert has been issued on the J&K border with Punjab and Himachal, and patrolling has been increased at all checkpoints.

DGP Dilbag Singh of the Jammu and Kashmir Police told Zee News that an IED weighing 5 to 6 kg had been recovered in the city by the Jammu Police. The IED was recovered from a Lashkar operative who was preparing to detonate it in any congested area of the city. A major attack was thwarted as a result of this recovery.

The arrested Lashkar operative is being questioned by police. It is expected that J&K Police will apprehend more Lashkar operatives before the interrogation is completed.

Dilbagh Singh stated that the Jammu and Kashmir Police is collaborating with other agencies to investigate the Jammu airfield blast. The police have filed a FIR in this case, and the investigation is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke with Vice Air Chief Air Marshal HS Arora about the incident at Jammu Air Force Station today. Air Marshal Vikram Singh was on the scene to assess the situation.
