Pakistan cop account credited with 100 million; bank blocks his ATM card

Aamir Gopang, a police officer in Pakistan’s Karachi, became a crorepati overnight when his salary bank account was credited with Rs 100 million (10 crores) from an “unknown source”.

The police officer claims he only got to know about his crorepati luck when he got a call from the bank and was informed that Rs 100 million had been deposited into his account. However, before he could do anything about it, the bank froze Gopang’s account and blocked his ATM card to prevent him from withdrawing money.

An investigation has been launched to find out how and where the massive sum ended up in the Karachi cop’s account. In similar incidents in Pakistan’s Larkana and Sukkur, other police officials also received large sums of money in their bank accounts, reports.
