Dilip Kumar married Saira Banu in 1966, when the actor was 44 and she was 22. The pair remained in seclusion to stay safe during the shutdown imposed by the dangerous new coronavirus.

According to reports, Dilip Kumar worked in 65 films during the course of his nearly five-decade career.

Dilip Kumar was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1991 for his contributions to Indian film. He earned the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994.

 

The Nishan-e-Imtiaz, Pakistan’s highest civilian award, was bestowed upon him in 1998.
