Tiger Spotted in Wayanad Residential Area, Kills Calf: Officials Confirm Presence

A tiger was once again sighted in the residential region of Panavally in Thirunelly, Wayanad. Early on Friday morning, the tiger was seen in the area and unfortunately, it killed a calf belonging to Santhosh from Panavally. Santhosh witnessed the tiger pouncing on the calf as he stepped out of his house for milking his cow. His commotion prompted the tiger to swiftly flee from the vicinity.

Upon arrival, forest officials from Thirunelly examined the scene, including the footprints and the manner of the attack, and verified the presence of a tiger. Local residents reported another instance of the tiger’s visit at 3 am, when it hastily retreated upon the door being opened due to a dog’s barking.
