LDF Candidate for Puthupally Constituency to be Announced Today
The official announcement of the LDF candidate for the Puthupally constituency will take place today. The announcement will be made by State Secretary MV Govindan following the district secretariat meeting at 10 am. The decision to nominate Jake C. Thomas as the candidate was made during the state secretariat meeting held yesterday. After the announcement, the candidate’s constituency tour will commence at 2:30 pm.
Despite the delay in revealing the candidate’s name, the Left Front is actively striving to gain momentum in the campaign within a short timeframe. Senior leaders have been mobilized to activate ward committees and mandal committees. The Chief Minister is slated to conduct campaign activities in the constituency in two phases. The plan is currently set for submitting the nomination papers on the 17th.
While Chandy Oommen’s candidacy was announced four days ago, the UDF’s constituency tour is yet to begin. The UDF camp is awaiting official instructions from the KPCC before commencing their activities. Senior Congress leaders have been engaged in constituency-related work for the past two days.
In the meantime, the NDA has not yet identified a suitable candidate. The three individuals under consideration by the district leadership have reportedly shown no interest in contesting. Consequently, the state leadership will nominate the candidate. The NDA aims to make an announcement either today or tomorrow.
