PM Modi Urges Tricolor Display for Social Media DPs to Strengthen National Bond
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a call for a patriotic gesture ahead of Independence Day, urging citizens to adorn their social media profile pictures with the tricolor. This initiative aims to foster a deeper connection between the nation and its people.
In preparation for Independence Day festivities, heightened security measures have been implemented along the borders, particularly the Line of Control and Srinagar Valley. Delhi and Punjab have also been designated as high-security zones, with the National Security Guard (NSG) intensifying surveillance at airports and Delhi Metro stations.
Amid concerns over potential protests from the Kuki and Meiti communities following the Manipur disturbances, intelligence agencies have issued warnings. Police have erected road barricades in the Red Fort area as a precautionary measure. To ensure security, over 10,000 police officers and security personnel have been deployed in Delhi.
A stringent security apparatus, including robust measures along Delhi’s borders, has been established. Public access to the Red Fort premises, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to speak, has been restricted since the 26th of last month. This area falls within the NSG’s security jurisdiction. Stringent checks and enhanced security protocols are in place at Delhi Metro stations and their vicinity.
