Vande Bharat Signage Appears on Kasaragod-Mangaluru Rail Route, Second Kerala Route Still Pending

Signage displaying “Vande Bharat” has recently been erected at stations along the Kasaragod-Mangaluru railway route in Kerala. These signboards serve as directives for locomotive operators to halt the train, although the official announcement of the final route for a potential second Vande Bharat train in Kerala has not yet been made. This installation strongly suggests that the Vande Bharat train is set to traverse the Kasaragod-Mangaluru corridor, diverging from the existing route, which runs between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod.

Several routes are under consideration for this second Vande Bharat train in Kerala, including Mangaluru-Thiruvananthapuram, Mangaluru-Kottayam, Mangaluru-Eranakulam, and Mangaluru-Coimbatore routes. Despite the allocation of the Vande Bharat train to the Southern Railway on August 30, an official trial run has not yet been conducted. At present, the train is stationed at the Basin Bridge Yard in Chennai, where an inspection was carried out in the presence of engineers from Mangaluru.
