Indian Government Introduces 31 New Crop Varieties to Benefit Uttar Pradesh Farmers
The Indian government, in collaboration with the Central Seed Committee, has unveiled 31 new crop varieties across 14 different crops for agricultural use in Uttar Pradesh. The notification announcing these releases was issued by Pankaj Yadav, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, on September 25, 2023.
These newly introduced crop varieties are expected to significantly benefit farmers in Uttar Pradesh, offering them enhanced options for agricultural cultivation. Here is a list of the new crop varieties along with the states and union territories where their sale is recommended:
Rice Varieties:
- Malviya Sugandhi Dhan-156 (HUR156-IET25419) – Recommended for sale in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
