UDF Launches Statewide Protests Against Corruption, Demands CM’s Resignation

The United Democratic Front (UDF) has taken a decisive stand against corruption, calling for the resignation of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The UDF plans to stage ‘Padayatras’ (foot journeys) in every constituency from October 10 to 15, accompanied by a blockade of the Secretariat on October 18. Aiming to shed light on issues like the AI camera scam, financial irregularities in Veena Vijayan’s firm, and the growing polarization within the police force, the UDF will also address problems such as the delayed payment of commission to ration shops during the Covid period and supply issues in the public distribution sector.

In response to the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation into the Karuvannur bank case, the UDF has opted not to join forces with the left government against Central encroachment upon the cooperative sector. Instead, the UDF will hold public hearings in all 140 constituencies, preparing a comprehensive charge sheet against the government and presenting an accurate depiction of Kerala’s deteriorating situation to the public. The UDF’s cooperative protection forum will convene a gathering of associates in Thiruvananthapuram on October 16, highlighting their commitment to addressing these pressing issues.
