In a strategic move to position Kochi as India’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) hub, Minister P Rajiv has announced the forthcoming International AI Summit. Set to take place in mid-year, the summit is a collaborative effort between the Industry and IT departments, with a distinct focus on elevating Kochi’s status in generative AI.

Minister Rajiv unveiled plans for the summit, emphasizing the city’s potential and aspirations to lead in the field of AI, specifically highlighting generative AI over generic AI. The event aims to attract global attention, with notable industry leaders such as Boeing and leveraging IBM’s global services expected to participate. Efforts are underway to secure their representation at the summit, showcasing Kochi’s commitment to becoming an AI epicenter.

The Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) will play a pivotal role in organizing the summit, forging collaborations with IT parks, startup missions, and technical universities in the state. This concerted effort aligns with Kochi’s vision of becoming IBM’s AI hub, drawing in top AI talent globally, and promising significant advantages for the growing IT workforce.

Minister Rajiv underlined the preparedness of the second phase of Infopark and Smart City to provide the essential infrastructure required for Kochi’s transformation into an AI hub. Noteworthy progress has already been made, as evidenced by a recent meeting between Industry Minister officials and representatives from IBM software, marking a significant step towards solidifying Kochi’s position as a thriving AI hub.
