Kerala Police to Strengthen Security with Rs 60 Lakh Anti-Drone Systems Amid Growing Aerial Threats

The Kerala police are gearing up to enhance security measures by acquiring anti-drone systems or counter-unmanned aerial technology. Valued at Rs 60 lakh per unit, these systems will be deployed to monitor and counter unauthorized drone activities, particularly during high-profile events, VIP meetings, and in areas where law and order could be threatened. The move is part of a broader initiative by the central government, which has allocated Rs 500 crore to states for cybersecurity and other security mechanisms. Kerala plans to use this fund to procure 20 anti-drone systems, employing radio frequency analyzers and sensors to detect and neutralize potential aerial threats. The implementation of these systems aims to bolster security efforts, especially in anticipation of VIP visits and the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
