Heatwave Alert in Multiple Kerala Districts: Caution Urged for Day Workers

An extreme heatwave alert has been issued today for several districts in Kerala, including Palakkad, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur, and Kozhikode. The disaster management authority has cautioned day workers and commuters to exercise caution due to the scorching temperatures. With temperatures soaring, it’s crucial for individuals to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.

Despite the heatwave alert, the Meteorological Center has forecasted summer rains in various districts of Kerala today and tomorrow. Isolated rain showers are likely in districts such as Alappuzha, Ernakulam, and Thrissur today, while tomorrow and the day after may see rainfall in Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod. While the rain may bring temporary relief from the heat, individuals are advised to remain cautious and prepared for both high temperatures and sudden rainfall.
