Buddhadeb Dasgupta, a national award-winning film director, died at the age of 77.
Eminent film director Buddhadeb Dasgupta died at his home in Kolkata early Thursday due to old-age-related ailments, according to family members. He was 77 years old.
Dasgupta’s wife and two daughters from his previous marriage survive him.
According to family members, the national award-winning director had kidney problems for a long time and was on dialysis twice a week.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her condolences on his death.
