Thiruvananthapuram: From December 1, accessing services on the State IT Mission’s e-District portal will require a mobile number linked to Aadhaar. Under the updated security protocol, One-Time Passwords (OTPs)— is essential for actions like logging in, creating accounts, and resetting passwords—will be sent exclusively to Aadhaar-linked mobile numbers.
Previously, OTPs were sent to the number provided during e-District account registration. However, this adjustment aims to enhance security and reduce the risk of system misuse or fraud. Citizens who wish to continue using e-District services must ensure their registered mobile number is linked to their Aadhaar.
The e-District portal facilitates access to a variety of government services, including those offered by the Revenue and Forest Departments, nature camp reservations, and utility bill payments, eliminating the need for physical visits to government offices. To date, over 12 crore applications have been processed via the platform.
If your mobile number isn’t yet linked to the Aadhaar, you’ll need to complete the linking process to ensure uninterrupted access. Existing users can log into their accounts and update their mobile numbers to Aadhaar-linked ones. This step not only enables seamless service usage but also aligns with the government’s goal of enhanced data security and fraud prevention.
