The Vivo T-series has gained a reputation for offering high-end specifications at competitive prices. The latest addition to this lineup, the Vivo T3 Pro 5G, continues this tradition, targeting the mid-range segment with a blend of premium design and powerful features. This new smartphone boasts a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, dual rear cameras with a 50-megapixel main sensor, a substantial 5,500mAh battery, and more. After spending some time with the device, here’s my initial take.
Starting with the design, the Vivo T3 Pro 5G bears a striking resemblance to the iQOO Z9s Pro, launched recently. Available in two color options—Sandstone Orange and Emerald Green—the T3 Pro offers a choice between a vegan leather finish and a glass back. I reviewed the Sandstone Orange variant, and its slim profile, just 7.49mm thick, combined with the premium feel of the vegan leather, makes it a standout in terms of aesthetics.
The rear panel is smooth and comfortable to hold, featuring a large camera module housing two sensors and an LED flash. On the right side, you’ll find the volume buttons and power button, while the bottom edge includes a hybrid SIM tray, USB Type-C port, and a speaker grille.
The display is another highlight of the Vivo T3 Pro, featuring a 6.77-inch Full HD+ curved AMOLED screen. With a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits, this display is among the brightest in its class, offering vibrant colors and smooth performance during my initial testing.
Under the hood, the Vivo T3 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, coupled with an Adreno 720 GPU. The unit I reviewed came with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. The chipset handled various tasks with ease, promising efficient battery usage.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the dual-camera setup on the rear, led by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and an f/1.79 aperture. There’s also an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The front camera is a 16-megapixel shooter, ideal for selfies and video calls. Initial photos taken with the T3 Pro were sharp with vibrant colors, and portrait shots were impressive in daylight conditions. However, I’ll need more time to explore its full potential under different lighting scenarios.
Powering the Vivo T3 Pro is a 5,500mAh battery, complemented by 80W fast charging. The device also includes an in-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and more.
Overall, the Vivo T3 Pro 5G is shaping up to be a strong contender in its price range. However, it faces stiff competition from its sibling, the iQOO Z9s Pro, which offers similar features and specifications.
