‘Alice in Borderland Season 3’ is all set to release on Netflix after two years. The series has become one of the most successful shows from Japan and has created massive buzz among viewers worldwide. Its plot focuses on Arisu, who is suddenly transported to an empty and parallel version of Tokyo and has to play deadly games to save his life.
Season 3 of ‘Alice in Borderland’ premieres on Thursday, September 25, 2025, exclusively on Netflix. For Indian viewers, all six episodes will be available from 12:30 pm IST. Unlike other shows that follow a weekly release format, the new season will drop in its entirety, allowing fans to binge-watch immediately.
The extended gap between seasons came as a result of the manga adaptation reaching its natural conclusion in Season 2. Director Shinsuke Sato and the writing team had to create a completely original continuation, which required time for development. Netflix also renewed the show a year after the release of Season 2, further adding to the delay.
The third season consists of six episodes. Despite the shorter run, creators have promised more psychological intensity, survival-themed challenges and heightened emotional drama. The previous season ended with Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) waking up in the real world after defeating the Queen of Hearts.
The series revealed that the Borderlands was not another realm but a shared space experienced by those on the verge of death following a meteorite strike in Tokyo. While players lost their memories after regaining consciousness, Arisu and Usagi felt a lingering connection and began a relationship. The finale teased future possibilities with the ominous shot of a Joker card.
According to Dexerto, the third season follows Arisu and Usagi, now married and living without memories of the games, who are drawn back into the Borderlands. Season 3 sees the return of Kento Yamazaki as Ryohei Arisu and Tao Tsuchiya as Yuzuha Usagi.
The ensemble cast also includes Hayato Isomura, Ayaka Miyoshi, Katsuya Maiguma, Koji Ohkura, Risa Sudou, Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, Tina Tamashiro, Kotaro Daigo, Hyunri, Sakura Kiryu, Yugo Mikawa, Joey Iwanaga, Akana Ikeda and Kento Kaku. The series is helmed by director Shinsuke Sato, with Yasuko Kuramitsu co-writing the screenplay alongside Sato.
