The enchanting hills of Ooty are once again gearing up to host a series of spectacular summer festivals that promise to delight nature lovers, families, and tourists alike. Set amidst the serene and picturesque landscape of the Nilgiris, these events highlight the natural beauty and horticultural richness of the region.
Spice Show (May 9–11) at Morning Star CMI Higher Secondary School in Gudalur is a treat for spice enthusiasts. Just over a kilometre from Gudalur Junction, the show features 25 varieties of aromatic spices and creative spice-made statues that draw crowds from across the country.
Rose Show (May 10–12) at the Government Rose Garden in Ooty showcases over three lakh roses in all imaginable colours and forms. Located 2.2 km from the Ooty bus stand, the garden also houses the Nilgiris Horticulture Department.
Flower Show (May 16–21), held at the iconic Government Botanical Garden (3.2 km from the bus stand), will host its 127th edition with breathtaking floral sculptures and exotic plant varieties.
Fruit Show (May 23–25) at Sim’s Park in Coonoor uses over 3.5 tonnes of fruits to create vibrant displays. The park, a scenic 21 km drive from Ooty, also features boating and a children’s area.
Plantation Crop Show (May 31–June 1) debuts at Government Katteri Park, 24 km from Ooty. This unique exhibition will highlight crops like coconut, coffee, areca, and betel, along with related products and displays.
