Dubai Duty Free has taken a significant step towards enhancing the shopping experience for Indian travellers in the UAE by introducing UPI (Unified Payments Interface) payment options. This new initiative is the result of a strategic collaboration between the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and Magnati, a leading payment solutions provider in the Middle East.
With this partnership, Indian travellers can now make payments using UPI through QR codes at Magnati’s point-of-sale (POS) terminals located in various outlets, including Dubai Duty Free shops at Dubai International Airport. This move aims to simplify transactions for Indian tourists, who will no longer have to rely on cash or international cards, making their shopping experience smoother and more convenient.
The introduction of UPI payment acceptance in the UAE represents a major leap forward in promoting seamless, cross-border payment solutions. UPI, known for its ease of use and speed, has quickly become one of India’s most preferred digital payment methods, and its expansion into the UAE market is expected to foster greater financial inclusion.
