Thiruvananthapuram: Due to an increase in Covid-19 cases in the state, movie theatres in the state cannot open until at least December, according to Saji Cheriyan, Minister for Culture.
“The increase in Covid-19 cases is alarming. The opening of new theatres can be considered only if the TPR rate falls below 8%. The increase in Covid-19 deaths must be taken seriously “Saji Cheriyan stated.
Many films, including the big-budget ‘Marakkar,’ are awaiting release in theatres. Saji Cheriyan’s statement concerns both filmmakers and moviegoers.
