In addition to the rainfall warning, the IMD has also cautioned about rough seas and high waves along the Kanyakumari coast. This phenomenon is expected between 5:30 PM and 11:30 PM today, with the possibility of dangerous sea conditions. As a result, the ongoing prohibition on fishing activities will remain in effect along the coasts of Kerala and Karnataka. Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the sea, and coastal residents are urged to stay informed about the situation.
The weather warnings will continue over the coming days, with a yellow alert in place for Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur districts tomorrow. On September 30, rain warnings will remain in effect for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Idukki, and Ernakulam districts.
