Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd (FACT), a Kochi-based central public sector undertaking (PSU), has posted a notable turnaround in its financial performance by recording a net profit of ₹70.78 crore in the fourth quarter ending March 31, 2025. This marks a significant improvement compared to the same quarter last year, when the company reported a loss of ₹79.1 crore.
The Q4 results also show a sharp jump in profits from the previous quarter (Q3), where FACT had reported a modest ₹8 crore profit. This represents a massive quarter-on-quarter increase of 784%. The company’s operating income during the quarter remained stable at ₹1,113.19 crore, marginally higher than ₹1,111.79 crore in Q3.
Despite the robust quarterly performance, FACT’s annual profit declined by 67.85%, dropping from ₹128.27 crore in the previous financial year to ₹41.23 crore in FY2024-25. The dip in yearly profit is attributed to a fall in overall operating income during the fiscal year.
In a regulatory filing, FACT announced a dividend of ₹20 per equity share, signaling strong confidence in its current financial stability and rewarding shareholders. Following the announcement, the company’s stock saw a 2.8% increase on the NSE, climbing from ₹899.95 to ₹925.70.
The latest results highlight FACT’s resilient performance and recovery, especially in the last quarter, positioning the PSU for potential growth in the upcoming fiscal year.
