What was meant to be a joyous celebration of Liverpool FC’s 20th top-flight league title turned into a horrifying incident when a car drove into a crowd of fans during the club’s victory parade. The tragic event occurred around 6 PM local time, while thousands had gathered along the parade route despite heavy rains, cheering their football heroes including Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk as they traveled in an open-top bus.

According to reports, more than 50 people were injured in the incident, including four children. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and 27 of the injured were taken to nearby hospitals. Two individuals are said to be in critical condition. British police have arrested a 53-year-old UK national in connection with the crash. Officials have stated that terrorism is not suspected, and no further suspects are being investigated at this time.

Social media videos showed the shocking moment when the vehicle veered into the crowd, prompting chaos and panic. Fire and rescue officials confirmed that they had rescued four individuals, including a child, who had been trapped under the vehicle. Twenty others were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The incident has drawn strong reactions, including condemnation from British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Liverpool FC itself. In a public statement, the club expressed deep concern and solidarity with the victims, thanking emergency services for their swift response and assuring full cooperation with Merseyside Police.
