Dubai to Unveil Innovative Floating Mosque with Underwater Prayer Area Next Year

Dubai is set to introduce a groundbreaking floating mosque featuring an underwater prayer area, developed by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) of the emirate. The unique place of worship will be located in Dubai Water Canal, offering a prayer hall beneath the water capable of accommodating 50-75 devotees at a time. According to Ahmad Khalfan Al Mansoori, the advisor for cultural communications at IACAD, the construction of this 2000-square meter mosque is scheduled to commence in October. The floating mosque, which aims to attract visitors from various backgrounds, is expected to open its doors next year. Visitors of all faiths are welcome, with an advisory to respect Islamic traditions, including appropriate dress codes, particularly for women covering their heads and shoulders.
