UAE Declares Eid Al Fitr Holidays: Private Sector Employees to Enjoy Paid Break

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced Eid Al Fitr holidays for both government and private sector employees. From April 8 to 14, government offices will remain closed, providing a total of nine days of holiday when weekends are included. Government operations are set to resume on April 15. Similarly, the private sector will also observe a four-day holiday starting from April 8, as declared by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE). This holiday period is anticipated to be the longest break of the year in the country.

In addition to the official holidays, Sharjah and Dubai have announced a week-long short Eid holiday specifically for public sector employees. However, the exact date of the Eid Al Fitr festival will be confirmed by the UAE’s Moon Sighting Committee. Regardless of whether the new moon is visible, the holiday will commence on April 8. If the festival begins on a Wednesday, private sector employees can expect the holiday to extend until Friday, April 12.

This announcement provides an opportunity for both government and private sector employees in the UAE to celebrate Eid Al Fitr with their families and loved ones.
