Historic Women’s Reservation Bill Receives Presidential Approval

President Droupadi Murmu has granted approval to the women’s reservation bill, guaranteeing 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. As per a notification from the law ministry, the president’s assent was given on Thursday. The bill will officially be recognized as the Constitution (106th Amendment) Act. Its enforcement date will be determined by the central government through an official Gazette notification.
