It’s celebration time for Mollywood : Megastar Mammootty turns 68 today
The Megastar of Mollywood, Mammootty is celebrating his 68th birthday today (September 7). Wishes from his fellow actors and fans are pouring in from all quarters on social media. The actor seems to have a low-key celebration on his special day with his family.
His actor-son Dulquer Salmaan took to social media to pen a heartfelt note to his dad on his special day. He wrote, “Happiest birthday to the reason for my being! Inspiring us everyday, being full of love and always finding time. You’re the greatest. The legend. My vappichi (sic)”.
Mammootty started his career with KS Sethumadhavan’s 1971 movie ‘Anubhavangal Paalichakal’ He played an uncredited role in the movie. He played the recognizable role in 1980 in the film ‘Vilkkanundu Swapnangal’.
The same year he appeared in KG George movie, ‘Mela’ in which he appeared in the lead role. ‘New Delhi’ was the movie that gave him a career breakthrough. The three-times National award-winning actor has about 400 movies to his credit and still rules the Mollywood industry like a king.
