Private bus employees call strike in Palakkad district

Private bus employees in Palakkad district will strike on Saturday demanding DA arrears. The strike was called as the discussion between the bus owners, employees and trade union representatives in the presence of the district labour officer failed to resolve the issue.

The employees had said that there were three DA arrears and if two of them were paid, they were ready to call off the strike. However, the bus owners refused to heed to this demand. They insisted that the DA arrears could be paid after the bus fare hike.
