Terrorist killed in gunfight with security forces in Pulwama, J&K; search continues
On Wednesday morning, an unidentified terrorist was killed in an ongoing overnight encounter with security forces in the Rajpora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

PoAccording to J&K police, the encounter occurred after a joint police-army team cordoned off the area and launched a search operation based on specific information about the presence of terrorists.
As security forces closed in on the terrorists’ hiding place, they were met with a barrage of fire, sparking the encounter.

KoAccording to a police officer, “the terrorist hiding in the area were given a chance to surrender in the early hours, but he refused.” Because of the darkness, the operation was carried out with extreme caution in order to avoid civilian casualties.”
According to police sources, the slain terrorist was a member of the Hizbul Mujahideen terror group and had been active in south Kashmir since 2017. However, the identity and affiliation of the slain terrorist have yet to be confirmed by the J&K Police.
In the area, a massive search and combing operation is still underway.
