Delhi Airport Issues Advisory Amid Severe Fog; Passengers Advised to Check with Airlines

Amidst severe fog conditions in North India, the Delhi airport has issued an advisory, urging passengers to contact airlines before traveling. The official notice cites the potential impact of dense fog on flight operations and advises passengers to check for updated flight information directly from the concerned airlines. The severe fog has already disrupted flight operations, with IndiGo reporting operational impacts and delays due to low visibility. The national capital is experiencing a foggy morning, with the minimum temperature at 4 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the Air Quality Index (AQI) has dipped into the ‘severe’ category, prompting the authorities to reimpose restrictions as per the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

The transport department has also implemented a ban on certain vehicles, and the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a ‘cold alert’ for several regions. The chilling weather has led to increased inspections along borders, while shelter homes are providing refuge to those seeking protection from the freezing conditions. In response to the weather conditions, the Delhi Education Department has ordered the reopening of schools in physical learning mode, with precautionary measures in place.
