Kerala Minority Commission Addresses Rain-Related Issues in Coastal Wards of Thiruvananthapuram

The Kerala State Commission for Minorities has taken action in response to a complaint regarding rain-related problems in the coastal wards of Thiruvananthapuram district. The Commission has officially registered the case and has instructed key authorities, including the local self-government secretary, district collector, disaster management authority chairman, and municipal secretary, to submit a detailed report on the situation. Chairman Adv. A.A. Rasheed has set a deadline of 15 days for the concerned authorities to provide the report.

The district recently experienced heavy rainfall, resulting in landslides, waterlogging, and flooding in various areas. Residents have expressed their concerns, stating that the severity of the situation was unprecedented, even when compared to the floods in 2018. The Kerala Minority Commission’s intervention highlights the significance of addressing the challenges faced by the coastal communities in the wake of these rain-related issues.
