Prabhas beats Aamir Khan’s box office record

After the release of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Prabhas has become the only pan-Indian superstar. His last release, Saaho, despite receiving negative reviews collected over Rs 300 crore at the box office. The movie almost got Rs 150 crore in its Hindi version as it also marked Prabhas’  Bollywood debut.

Recently, Prabhas starrer Saaho saw a release in Japan amidst the Pandemic scare. Such is Prabhas’ star power and box office pull in the country, after the release of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, that Saaho created history at the Japan box office.

The movie took the biggest opening for an Indian film beating Aamir Khan mega-blockbuster Dangal. According to a report in Tollywoodboxoffice.in, Saaho collected $110k on its opening day.

The movie has already found a spot in the top five highest grossing Indian films in Japan. Currently, Saaho is behind Sridevi starrer English Vinglish, Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots, Rajinikanth’s Muthu and Prabhas’ own Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. 

Saaho also starred Shraddha Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Chunky Panday, Arun Vijay, Mahesh Manjrekar and Jackie Shroff.
