Kerala residents are urged to brace for heavy rainfall as the Central Meteorological Department has issued a warning about intensified rains today. There is a likelihood of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in isolated areas of Malappuram and Kozhikode within the next three hours, coupled with gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 40 kmph. A yellow alert has been declared in eight districts for today, and a similar alert will extend to all nine districts tomorrow.

Coastal residents and fishermen are advised to exercise utmost caution and adhere to the following safety guidelines:

Avoid Danger Zones: Stay away from areas identified as hazardous by local authorities, especially due to rough seas.

Secure Fishing Vessels: Ensure that fishing boats, canoes, and other vessels are securely moored in harbors. Maintain a safe distance between boats to prevent collisions. Additionally, double-check the safety of fishing equipment to prevent damage.
