Karnataka govt relaxes COVID restrictions
Karnataka relaxed the Covid-19 restrictions today allowing certain activities, like re-opening of religious places and weddings.
But night curfew will continue from 9 pm to 5 am across the state, official statement said. Deputy Commissioners of the districts will assess situations and after consultation with the district-in-charge Minister might impose additional containment measures.
Public transportation metro service will begin operations with full seating capacity. Malls will reopen and offices will function with full working strength from Monday.
For weddings and other family functions, the government will allow up to 100 guests for these events. There was a limit of 40 guests until now. For cremation, up to 20 people can gather.
“Temples will be open only for Darshan. No other special Seva will be permitted. After the second wave, people are behaving more responsibly. The state government is easing relaxations to ensure normalcy. We will be strictly enforcing covid protocols. Violation will lead to action against individuals or establishments,” said Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant
