Bharat Rice Initiative: Railway Stations to Offer Subsidized Rice Sales

In a bid to provide affordable food options to commuters, railway stations across the country will soon offer Bharat rice for sale. Approved by the Railway Passenger Marketing Executive Director, this initiative aims to make Bharat rice accessible to a wider audience at subsidized rates. Implemented through mobile vans, the sale of Bharat rice and Bharat atta will commence on an experimental basis for the next three months, with no additional charges or licenses imposed by the railway authorities.

Commuters can expect the rice and atta sale to take place for two hours every evening, providing a convenient opportunity for purchasing essential food items. The decision to park the vans at specific locations will be determined by the Divisional General Manager overseeing the sale of rice. This move not only addresses the need for affordable food options but also serves as a permanent solution to the challenge of ensuring accessibility to Bharat rice, which will be sold at Rs 29 per kg, and Bharat atta at Rs 27.50 per kg.
