In the last 24 hours, India has recorded 15,981 new COVID-19 cases and 166 deaths
New Delhi: In the last 24 hours, India reported 15,981 new COVID-19-19 cases, 5.7 percent fewer than the previous day. As many as 166 people died as a result of the infection, bringing the total death toll to 4,51,980.
The number of active COVID-19 cases has decreased to 2,01,632 and accounts for 0.60 percent of all infections. The national recovery rate was 98.07 percent, according to data updated at 8 a.m.

The active COVID-19-19 caseload decreased by 2,046 in a single day. The number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 3,33,99,961, with a case fatality rate of 1.33 percent. On Friday, a total of 9,23,003 tests were carried out, bringing the total number of COVID-19-19 detection tests carried out in the country to 58,98,35,258.
Over 97.23 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country till now under the nationwide vaccination drive.
