Kannur: Collectors of Kannur, Malappuram, Idukki and Wayanad announced a holiday for all educational institutions in the districts on Thursday. The holiday was announced as heavy rains continued to lash the districts and a red alert was issued.

In Kannur, all educational institutions including professional colleges, CBSE, ICSC, Anganwadis and Madrasas will remain closed on Thursday. the holiday will not affect previously scheduled university examinations.
In Malappuram, all educational institutions including professional colleges, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Anganwadis and Madrasas will remain closed on Thursday. However, the holiday will not affect previously scheduled examinations.
In Idukki, all educational institutions including professional colleges and Kendriya Vidyalayas will remain closed on Thursday.
In Wayanad, all educational institutions including professional colleges will remain closed on Thursday. However, the holiday will not affect previously scheduled examinations including university and public examinations. The holiday will not be applicable for model residential schools.
