Rahul Gandhi Criticizes PM Modi for Laughing in Parliament Amid Manipur Unrest

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi, a leader from the Congress party, escalated his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in light of the ongoing violence in Manipur. On Friday, Gandhi stated that it is inappropriate for the Indian Prime Minister to engage in laughter and make jokes in Parliament while the state has been grappling with turmoil for the past four months.

Gandhi alleged during a press conference at the AICC headquarters that the Prime Minister seems to allow Manipur to suffer and burn, suggesting that there are measures at the government’s disposal to promptly address the violence if they choose to do so.

He expressed deep concern over the dire situation, highlighting instances of women and children facing death, molestation, and rape in Manipur. Gandhi stressed that this issue transcends political affiliations, emphasizing that a state’s devastation affects the entire nation. He attributed the state’s decline to the BJP’s political tactics, accusing them of exacerbating division and unrest.
