Changes in Darshan Timings at Ram Temple Ayodhya, Priest Announces Closure for Afternoon Rest

The authorities at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya have made changes to the darshan timings of Ram Lalla, the main deity, to manage the increasing crowd. In response to the rising rush, the temple trust and government had implemented various measures, including extending the darshan time. However, the authorities have now announced that the temple will be closed for an hour in the afternoon, starting from Friday. The decision, according to Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest, is based on the understanding that “Ram Lalla is a five-year-old boy, and rest is essential for him.” The new schedule involves closing the shrine from 12:30 to 1:30 in the afternoon, ensuring a balanced routine for the deity.

The Prana Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya took place on January 22, attracting a growing number of devotees each day. The surge in the crowd led to difficulties in managing the rush, with reports of some people being denied entry due to the overwhelming numbers. In response, the temple trust and government introduced several measures, including extending the darshan time for Ram Lalla, the main deity.

Despite the extended hours, the authorities faced challenges in crowd management, prompting a decision to implement a new schedule. Chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das emphasized the importance of providing essential rest to Ram Lalla, who is considered a five-year-old deity. As a result, the temple will now be closed for an hour in the afternoon, from 12:30 to 1:30. This move aims to strike a balance between allowing devotees extended darshan time and ensuring adequate breaks for the deity.

Previously, the darshan time had been extended from 6:00 in the morning to 10:00 at night to accommodate the increasing number of visitors. The decision to adjust the temple timings reflects the ongoing efforts to streamline the pilgrimage experience and maintain the sanctity of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
