Krzysztof Zanussi to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at IFFK

Polish director, producer, and screenwriter Krzysztof Zanussi is set to be honored with the Lifetime Achievement award at the 28th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). The award includes a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh, a statuette, and a citation. The presentation ceremony is scheduled for December 15 at Nishagandi during the festival’s closing ceremony.

Zanussi, known for his contributions to cinema, will have several of his films, including “Perfect Number,” “The Illumination,” “The Contract,” “The Spiral,” “Foreign Body,” and “A Year of the Quiet Sun,” screened during the festival. His works often delve into profound themes such as life, death, faith, morality, freedom, existence, and old age.

Minister Saji Cheriyan announced the decision to present Zanussi with the prestigious award. Zanussi had previously participated in the IFFK in 1998, marking a connection with the festival’s history.
