Kerala’s TPR falls to 12.72 percent after 13,832 new COVID-19 cases are reported in 24 hours.
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala recorded 13,832 new Covid cases on Saturday, according to a health department press release. The death toll rose to 10,975 with the addition of 171 new fatalities.
Test positivity rate was declined to 12.72 percent.
On Saturday, 171 more deaths were confirmed as a result of the disease, bringing the total death toll to 10,975. Despite the fact that more deaths have been reported, the state has yet to identify them as COVID deaths. The National Institute of Virology in Alappuzha is conducting tests.
On Saturday, 18,172 more people recovered from the infection, bringing the total number of active cases in the state to 1,29,488.
So far, Kerala has recorded 27,16,655 COVID-19 cases. 25,75,769 of these were recovered.
The virus was spread through contact in 12,986 of Saturday’s cases, with 82 cases coming from outside the state. The source of infection for 700 of the contact cases has yet to be identified. There are also 64 new cases involving health workers.

Quarantine and testing
Until Saturday, 2,11,26,248 samples were sent for testing (including routine, airport surveillance, pooled sentinel, CBNAAT, TrueNAT, CLIA, and antigen assay).
A total of 5,45,000 people are being watched across the state. There are 5,13,897 in home or institutional quarantine, and 31,103 are in hospitals across the state. On Saturday, a total of 2,132 people were admitted to hospitals.
As of Saturday, the state had 880 hotspots.
